19 remarkable female musicians on the Nordic experimental music scene have created new music together in 9 different new constellations, which makes up the MEUF vollume 2 album. This is the second compilation in a new annual tradition on the initiative of musician and composer Maria Dybbroe. It is a multi-coloured and multi-faceted album that takes you on a journey into the endless possibilities of music to experience new things and be amazed.
The background for the release is to provide a platform for releasing brand new exciting music that reaches into the future, as well as to focus on the thriving scene for experimental music with its many and diverse female voices. The hope is also to provide an opportunity for female musicians to start completely new musical collaborations, and in this way forge new ties between female artists in the Nordics, who, due to their minority in the music industry, do not always meet as many colleagues who, by virtue of their gender reminds of themselves.

“Fragmenter af en Dans” (“Fragments of a Dance”) is a live concert album performed by Stundom and Jonas Frølund performing compositions by Béla Bartók, Bent Sørensen, Carl Nielsen, Vagn Holmboe & Lil Lacy. Two music worlds meet when the clarinet-virtuoso Jonas Frølund and the awardwinning folk music trio Stundom play music together. The album is a recording from their debut concert as a quartet, recorded by the Danish Radio in the summer of 2023.
The piece “Længsel” (“Longing”) is composed specifically to Stundom & Frølund by the Danish / American composer Lil Lacy.

I H A V E N ( 2 0 2 3 )

“I HAVEN” is an album by frk. jacobsen - a solo project by Anja Jacobsen, started in 2013 with critically acclaimed EP Lobsters, followed by the album Thin Dry Sticks in 2018.
The musicians Lil Lacy (keys, cello, choir), Ida Duelund (bass) and Lars Bech Pilgaard (guitar) play alongside Anja Jacobsen (drums, percussion, lead vocal) on the album.
The tracks unfold like scenes from a play - in the garden, on the forest floor, by the cherry tree and at the field, interrupted by an intermezzo into the future. A heifer calf transforms into a stone, a woman ages suddenly - frk. jacobsen mixes musical experiments with cosmic excursions and thought material from Antiquity. “Being in a garden is like being in a magical place where things arise and transform. The garden - an interior and exterior space going through an almost magical transformation every spring”, Anja Jacobsen says about the new album.

Composed by Lil Lacy

Windborne is inspired by the feeling of being lifted up by the air, windborne; moving from the ground, upwards, sensing the streams of air lifting you, listening to the silence of riding with the wind, little by little, further and further up... In Danish the title 'Løftet af vinden' refers to being lifted by the wind, but it also has another connotation; the promise of the wind.

T H I N D R Y S T I C K S ( 2 0 1 8 )

Performed by Frk. Jacobsen, the solo project of Anja Jacobsen.
The music is composed by Anja Jacobsen (vocal, drums, keyboards). Throughout most of the album a band is playing, consisting of Lars Bech Pilgaard (guitar), Lil Lacy (keyboards, choir, cello) and Nicolai Kaas Claesson (bass, cello) - all contributing with personal flare and creative musicalities.
“Thin Dry Sticks” explores a field of musical and emotional tensions - between earthbound realistic settings and cosmic abstractions, between ancient Greece and 2018 Copenhagen life as well as melodic pop notions and sonic experimentation. Like a playful journey through different times and situations, the album is an ode to the poetic and surreal moments that often mingle with everyday life or dreams, e.g. the song “Doublo”. Here a windy bike ride through Copenhagen is interupted by the incomprihensible experience of being two humans in one body.

”Ånder” contains a highly eclectic blend of african streetmusic, complex guitar-riffs, etheric keyboards and trancending drum rhythms with elements of western noiserock and naive, melancholic vocals.
The lyrics revolves around universal human problems and is highly inspired of the simple african way of building poetry.

"The debut record was one of the rare ones. Now comes the challenging second album, or not, when you work whith four musicians of such inner quality. Combined with the balanced distance to the details, that makes tones and ideas align as day-dreams that gather complete to one”
